How did Battle of the Buffalo begin?

Battle of the Buffalo is held every year in memory of Paul “Fish” Salmon. Paul was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and underwent treatment at the Clearview Cancer Institute (CCI). He was a brother of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and a senior at The University of Alabama in Huntsville when he passed away in 2007. In 2009, the men of Alpha Tau Omega began building a festival centered on buffalo wings, Paul’s favorite snack. The event has raised a total of $134,000 in its first seven years and continues to support local cancer patients undergoing treatment via the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation. The brothers of Alpha Tau Omega, along with the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, ask for your help in continuing a tradition of love, health, and charity.
